Brexit triumph: Fishing and farming set for MAJOR rebuild as Brexit unleashes UK potential

The former director of Vote Leave, Daniel Hodson demanded Boris Johnson‘s Government look at rebuilding the fishing and farming industry. While speaking to Youtube channel Brexit Watch, Mr Hodson argued Brexit gives the UK an opportunity to majorly boost both industries. Mr Hodson added the dairy farming industry could benefit from Brexit and revert back to a time when 90 percent of milk distributed was British.

Mr Hodson said: “I think reshoring is a really interesting opportunity.

“Particularly for an area which you often don’t hear discussed, farming.

“I think there is a considerable amount of interest in that.”

He said: “One particular aspect of farming is the dairy industry.

“I was finance director at a time when about 80-90 percent of our milk was delivered to the doorstep and it was all British milk.

“I think there are all sorts of opportunities for that industry that don’t exist at the moment but will post-Brexit.

“You are going to see other industries develop as well.

Mr Hodson explained the fishing industry could also see great benefits from Brexit.

He said: “The other industry that can clearly rebuild is fishing.

“Fishing has been decimated over the last 10 or 15 years and this is a real opportunity to rebuild it.

“I think that communities around the country will be hoping that this Government delivers a deal that allows them to do exactly that.”

Mr Hodson also argued the potential for the UK at this crossroad was massive and opportunities must be taken advantage of.

He explained that as the UK attempts to negotiate a trade deal with the EU, the UK must also balance its negotiation talks with the US.

He said: “The overall potential is massive.

“There is a massive willingness, at a political level, to do business with us at the moment.”
